Warriors guard Curry out at least a week
The Golden State Warriors are expected to be without leading scorer Stephen Curry for at least a week due to a right quad contusion sustained in Wednesday's 104-100 loss to the Houston Rockets.
Curry was hurt late in the game and scored just 14 on 4-of-13 shooting after averaging 34.5 points in his previous six appearances.
The 11-time All-Star leads the Warriors (10-10) with 27.9 points per game and is also averaging 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.31 steals in 16 contests.
"We ain't going to have the ultimate bailout on our team, but even when (Curry) is on the floor, we're going to have to do our job because we make the game real difficult," teammate Jimmy Butler said after Golden State lost for the fourth time in five games Wednesday.
"As great as a basketball player as he is, he has a really hard job every single day; he's got to be the Batman of all Batmans and save us every night.
"That ain't what he's here to do."
The Golden State Warriors anticipate Stephen Curry will miss around a week or a little more with a quad contusion suffered Wednesday night, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. He's believed to have avoided any serious issue. Return will depend on how quad responds to treatment. pic.twitter.com/m1QwFXhhVc
