Caitlin Clark lambasted the officiating after she received her fifth technical foul of the season during the Indiana Fever's win over the Phoenix Mercury.

Clark was the star of the show as she reeled off 24 points in an 86-77 victory for the Fever.

However, she was left furious after she received a technical foul for applauding a decision to award a personal foul against her following a tussle with DeWanna Bonner.

And Clark did not hold back in her criticism of the officials.

"I got a technical for clapping," said a frustrated Clark, who is now just three more technicals away from a suspension.

"We should all just go on the calendar now and pick a game I'm going to be suspended for if I'm going to get technicals for clapping.

"I asked about it, they said I got a technical for clapping. If it's true, that should be taken away. They said they gave it to me for clapping, so it's just ridiculous; I don't understand it at all.

"If they're going to give me a technical foul for clapping, that’s their choice. They can go back and review that call and I'd love to hear their reasons for why they gave me a foul for clapping, and why other players on their team didn’t get a foul in that situation. I'd love to know.

"They said it was for clapping and instigating. So they don’t want competitive basketball – disappointing from them."

Elsewhere in the WNBA, Connecticut Sun star Brittney Griner made history as she helped her team to a 92-63 win over the Chicago Sky.

Not only did the Sun snap a seven-game losing streak, but Griner also set a new WNBA record for blocks. She is now on 878 across her career.

"Having my family here is big for me. Everything I do, I do for them. So, for them to see that, sitting there at courtside, is amazing. I have a lot of emotions right now," Griner said.

"But also, getting the win here, we wanted to put on a good show for these fans, and I hope they know that we are working hard every single day. We are working so hard."
