Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve hailed the maturity of rookie Olivia Miles following another impressive performance from the guard.

Miles scored 20 points to go along with seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks as the Lynx defeated the Golden State Valkyries 77-66 on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old has now scored 696 points this season, moving her above both A'ja Wilson and Paige Bueckers for the third-most points by a rookie in WNBA history.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark currently holds the record, scoring 769 points in the 2024 season.

With 20+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists, Miles also tied Tamika Catchings for the second-most such games by a rookie in the WNBA, while she is also the third rookie in league history to record multiple 20-point games on 80% shooting.

"She has a maturity about her," Reeve said of Miles, who hobbled off the court following an ankle injury.

"That's a rookie. It's high stakes, and you know she is going to be targeted and part of the other team's game plan.

"She has a natural maturity for the position that she plays, recognising what was being given to her, and she was opportunistic."

Kayla McBride, who also scored a joint-game-high 20 points, added: "I'm not [surprised] anymore.

"She is so present, she is so talented and poised. She's just a hooper. She loves the moment; she relishes the moments. I'm excited to see what she does next."

Depending on the severity of the injury, Miles could break the WNBA rookie scoring record against Clark's Fever.

The Lynx face the Fever in their final two games of the regular season, first in Indiana and then in Minnesota.
