Sabrina Ionescu believes the New York Liberty's matchup against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday starred "some of the best players the game has ever seen on the court".

The Liberty snapped their two-game losing streak with an 87-76 victory at Michelob Ultra Arena, with both teams now second in their respective conferences.

They will go head-to-head again on June 30 in the Commissioner's Cup final in New York; the Liberty won the title in 2023 while the Aces won the competition in 2022.

Las Vegas have also won the WNBA title in three of the past four seasons, with the only exception coming in 2024, when the Liberty claimed the championship.

With Breanna Stewart (20 points), Jackie Young (19), A'ja Wilson (16) and Ionescu (16) all contributing in Tuesday's matchup, the latter felt it was a great advert for the league.

"Two of the best organisations in our league," Ionescu said.

"[The Aces] have continued to pave the way in what they've done, contending every single year, winning multiple championships.

"[The matchup] is always a great basketball game being played... some of the best players the game has ever seen on the court."

Ionescu also added 10 assists to her 16 points in the Liberty's win, recording her first double-double of the 2026 season.

The 28-year-old guard has only played six games this term due to foot and back injuries, but she is starting to grow in confidence again.

"I'm just better and better every day," added Ionescu.

"My body's feeling better, getting back into the rhythm of playing competitive basketball."
