Olivia Miles set a WNBA record for points by a rookie in a season Sunday as Minnesota posted a 101-89 win over the Connecticut Sun that put the Lynx on the cusp of securing the top overall seed in the play-offs.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Lynx (32-10) can wrap up the No. 1 seed and home-court advantage throughout the play-offs with one win or a loss by the second-place Golden State Valkyries (31-11).

Miles entered Sunday tied for the record with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who scored 769 points during her 2024 Rookie of the Year campaign.

The second overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, Miles had 21 points and six assists against Connecticut (10-32), Napheesa Collier scored 23 and Natasha Howard added 18 points and 11 rebounds as Minnesota snapped a season-high three-game skid.

In other games with play-off seeding implications, the third-place Las Vegas Aces (29-13) pushed their winning streak to five games with a 98-77 victory against the league-worst Seattle Storm (8-35).

Four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson scored 30 to become the only player in league history to have multiple 1,000-point seasons as defending champion Las Vegas increased its lead to one game over the Atlanta Dream (28-14), who own a one-game advantage over Indiana (27-15) for fourth place.

The top four teams receive home-court advantage in the opening round of the postseason.

The Washington Mystics (26-16) cruised to an easy 93-77 win over the Fever to get within one game of fifth-place Indiana.

The New York Liberty (26-16) also pulled within a game of the Fever with a 106-69 rout of the expansion Toronto Tempo (11-31).

New York star Breanna Stewart scored 27 to move into eighth place on the WNBA’s all-time list with 6,833 points.

In the only matchup between eliminated teams, Nneka Ogwumike became just the fourth player in WNBA history to reach 8,000 career points as the Los Angeles Sparks (16-26) cruised to a 105-84 win over the expansion Portland Fire (16-27).

Ogwumike (8,013) joined retired stars Diana Taurasi (10,646) and Tina Charles (8,396), and Atlanta’s DeWanna Bonner (8,217) in the 8,000-point club.
