Brook hails 'awesome' Smith after England seal Windies series whitewash
Harry Brook saluted "awesome" Jamie Smith following England's one-day international series whitewash of West Indies.
Brook's side sealed a 3-0 victory with a seven-wicket win via the DLS method - their first over the Windies since March 2017 - following a rain-disrupted third match at The Oval.
Smith gave England a solid start to their successful chase of 246, striking 64 off just 28 balls during an impressive 93-run opening stand with Ben Duckett.
Brook hailed his opener after making a winning start in his first ODI series as captain.
"Jamie Smith played awesome," he told Test Match Special. "Everyone knows how well he can play. He got man of the match, which is a nice little touch for him.
"It feels awesome [to win my first ODI series]. This last game, we played beautifully on quite a good pitch. We didn't let them get too many runs against us, and finished it off beautifully.
"Naturally, we just wanted to concentrate on our skills and execute as well as possible."

"It was nice to come out here and play aggressive," Smith added. "It's the way the team want me to play, to set up a nice start.
"I wanted to prove that it is a position I can make my own. I wanted to push my chest out a bit, and say that I'm good enough to open the batting."
Meanwhile, West Indies have now lost each of their last 13 men's ODIs against England away from home, last registering such a victory in July 2007.
Nevertheless, skipper Shai Hope was determined to remain upbeat ahead of the T20 series between the nations, which begins on Friday.
"There's always some positives if we dissect it," he said. "There are a lot of things that we can take from the series, and a lot of things that we can improve on.
"We need to take the positives into the T20 series because we can't change the past. We need to come out all guns blazing in the T20 series."
