India record their biggest Test win after thrashing Afghanistan
India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs to record their biggest win in Test cricket.
The one-off match in New Chandigarh, which was not part of the ICC Test Championship, was over in three days following a huge batting collapse from the tourists.
Afghanistan started day three on 113-5, and despite Rahmat Shah (60) bringing up his half-century, they were bowled out for just 152 after India debutant Manav Suthar ended with figures of 6-33.
India decided to enforce the follow-on and it proved to be the right decision, with Abdul Malik (8) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (24) dismissed by Mohammed Siraj (1-11) and Kuldeep Yadav (3-30) respectively.
Washington Sundar (4-36) starred for India with the ball in Afghanistan's second innings, removing Rahmat (13) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (5), with the latter's dismissal triggering the visitors' collapse.
Afghanistan went from 93-3 to 112 all out, with tailender Sharafuddin Ashraf unable to bat due to injury, as India raced to a historic victory.

India turn Test fortunes around in style
There was pressure on India coach Gautam Gambhir heading into this Test, with India losing their most recent series in the longest format, 2-0 to South Africa last November.
Despite some calls for a change in management, Gambhir's side responded as best as they could, recording their biggest red-ball win.
Their previous such win came in October 2018, when they defeated West Indies by an innings and 272 runs, while this win over Afghanistan is the 10th biggest overall in the format (by an innings).
They were sent on their way to victory by debutant Suthar, who ended the match with seven wickets in total.
His first-innings figures of 6-33 were the best of any Indian on their Test debut since Narendra Hirwani, who ended with 8-61 and 8-75 in his first-ever Test match against West Indies in January 1988.
India now have a five-month wait for their next Test match, which comes against New Zealand in November. They face Afghanistan, Ireland, England, Zimbabwe, West Indies, and the Black Caps in white-ball series prior to their next red-ball match.
