England hammer India by nine wickets to seal T20I series win
England thrashed India by nine wickets in Bristol to clinch a historic T20I series victory.
Harry Brook and Phil Salt put together a 146-run partnership as England chased down their target of 159 with 37 balls to spare, taking a 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
India, who suffered their heaviest T20I defeat last time out (by 125 runs), won the toss and chose to bat, but saw Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (15) and Ishan Kishan (4) dismissed in the powerplay.
Abhishek Sharma (16) followed soon after as he was caught and bowled by Adil Rashid (1-49), but captain Shreyas Iyer (80 not out) came in and steadied the ship.
Jofra Archer (2-20), who got the wicket of teenage sensation Sooryavanshi, also got the better of Washington Sundar (5) before running out Axar Patel (1) as India were limited to just 158-7 from their 20 overs.
India made a good start with the ball as Jos Buttler (8) was caught off the bowling of Arshdeep Singh (1-41), but that was the only joy the tourists managed during the defence of their total.
Brook smashed 79 off just 35 balls, scoring eight fours and four maximums, while Salt's 59 from 42 deliveries anchored England's chase, which was wrapped up after 13.5 overs.

Just what the doctor ordered for England
After a dismal and chaotic start to their Test summer, England bounced back in perfect fashion in the shortest format, defeating India for the first time in a bilateral series.
And they have dispatched the reigning T20 world champions in emphatic fashion.
England have equalled their best winning run against India in T20Is (three wins), set twice previously in 2009-2011 and 2012-2017.
Brook stole the show in Bristol, catching the eye with a mix of classic cricket shots and unorthodox scoops in a thrilling stint.
India, meanwhile, have lost successive T20I series for the first time since 2018-19, after entering this matchup off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Ireland.
Their current five-match losing streak in the format is also their worst ever, and they have only pride to play for in the final match of the series.
