Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed his biggest T20I score yet as India beat Zimbabwe by 35 runs to complete a sweep of their three-match series.

The 15-year-old, who was playing his sixth T20I, racked up 81 runs off just 49 deliveries faced to provide the backbone for India's score of 192-5.

Sooryavanshi's second half-century of the series was backed up by Ishan Kishan (29 off 26) and captain Shreyas Iyer (27 off 18) as India overcame a slow surface in Harare and the early loss of Abhishek Sharma (2).

Sooryavanshi eventually fell victim to a wonderful diving catch from Brad Evans, off the bowling of Wessly Madhevere, but India always looked capable of defending their total.

The tourists were guilty of some poor fielding, with several sloppy drops giving Zimbabwe a sliver of hope, but ducks from Brian Bennett and captain Sikandar Raza did not help the hosts' cause, with an unbeaten 54 from Ryan Burl the only real resistance they put up.

Mayank Yadav was the standout Indian bowler with figures of 3-29, his best-ever in the shortest format, while Yash Thakur finished 2-45 as Zimbabwe fell some way short of the required scoring rate.

Sooryavanshi continues ascent as Sharma struggles again

India came into this series enduring something of a crisis following six straight defeats to Ireland (0-2) and England (0-4, also one match with no result), but their first series victory of Iyer's captaincy proved a comprehensive one.

And if the Men in Blue are to continue to be successful in T20Is moving forward, Sooryavanshi will surely have a key role to play.

The teenager whacked eight fours and four sixes during his 15 overs at the crease, with only a spectacular effort on the run from Evans bringing his knock to a halt.

He certainly enjoys playing in Harare, having registered scores of 50, 20 and 81 across this series after smashing 68 and 175 on the same ground during the Under-19 World Cup at the start of 2026.

Sooryavanshi's heroics meant Sharma got away with a third single-digit score in as many innings, following returns of 1 and 8 in the first two matches.
