Raiders fire Pierce after one full season as coach
Antonio Peirce told the media on Monday that he was still the Las Vegas Raiders' coach.
Less than 24 hours later, that was no longer the case.
The Raiders decided to fire Pierce on Tuesday, two days after the season finale.
Las Vegas went 4-13 in 2024, and suffered a 10-game losing streak from Weeks 5-15. The Raiders then won two of their final three games, but it wasn't enough to save Pierce's job.

When Las Vegas opens the 2025 season, it will begin with its third head coach in as many years.
The 46-year-old Pierce took over as interim coach midway through the 2023 season following the firing of Josh McDaniels.
He then guided the Raiders to a 5-4 record in his nine games at the helm, and was hired as the full-time coach for 2024.
The offence struggled mightily this season, however, ranking 29th in scoring at 18.2 points per game, leading Pierce to fire offensive coordinator Luke Getsy during the skid.
Quarterback play was the biggest reason why the Raiders sputtered offensively, as the team started Gardner Minshew, Aidan O'Connell and Desmond Ridder - none of whom are considered to be top-tier QBs.
Las Vegas, which reportedly will keep Tom Telesco as general manager, owns the sixth pick in this year's draft, and my attempt to target a quarterback in the draft.
