DK Metcalf has a new team and a new contract, as multiple outlets reported Sunday the Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired the standout wide receiver from the Seattle Seahawks and will sign him to a four-year extension.

According to ESPN, the Seahawks will receive Pittsburgh's 2025 second-round pick and the teams will swap draft choices in the sixth and seventh rounds. According to NFL.com, Metcalf has also agreed to a new five-year, $150 million contract that runs through the 2029 season.

Metcalf had one season remaining on a three-year, $72million extension he signed with the Seahawks prior to the 2022 campaign.

The move comes less than a week after Metcalf requested a trade from Seattle, where he had spent his entire six-year career after being taken by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2019 draft.

Metcalf has been an impact receiver in each of those years, as he's recorded 900 or more receiving yards in all six seasons and is tied for fifth in the NFL in touchdown catches (48) since entering the league in 2019.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection had 66 catches totalling 992 yards in 15 games in 2024, though his five touchdown receptions were his lowest in a season of his career.

Metcalf will now team with fourth-year pro George Pickens to give Pittsburgh a pair of bona fide big-play threats at the position. Pickens' career average of 16.3 yards per reception is the second-highest among active players with 150 or more career catches.

Who will be throwing the ball to that formidable duo remains a mystery, however. The Steelers' two starting quarterbacks from last season, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, are both currently free agents, and it's unclear whether they'll bring either back or are looking in a new direction.

Metcalf's now former team also has some uncertainty at quarterback after the Seahawks made another big trade earlier this week, sending experienced veteran Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday for a third-round pick in this year's draft.

Fox Sports reported Saturday that Seattle is targeting the top free-agent quarterback of this offseason, Sam Darnold, and there is mutual interest between the team and the 2024 Minnesota Vikings signal-caller.
