Baltimore Ravens star Lamar Jackson beat out Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills for the first-team quarterback spot as the Associated Press released its 2024 NFL All-Pro team on Friday.

Jackson, the 2019 and 2023 NFL MVP, received 30 of 50 first-place votes to earn first-team honours for the third time in his career. Allen, the current betting favourite to win this season's MVP award, was placed on the second team after garnering 18 first-place votes.

Jackson joins Peyton Manning (seven times) and Aaron Rodgers (four) as the only quarterbacks in the Super Bowl era with three or more first-team designations.

The Ravens had four first-team selections to tie the Detroit Lions, the top seed for the NFC playoffs, for the most of any team. Both Baltimore and Detroit placed six players on the overall All-Pro squad, tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the most recipients.

Fullback Patrick Ricard, linebacker Roquan Smith and slot cornerback Marlon Humphrey were Baltimore's other first-team choices. AFC rushing champion Derrick Henry was named second-team running back behind Eagles standout Saquon Barkley, the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season.

Detroit was represented on the first team by wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, offensive tackle Penei Sewell, safety Kerby Joseph and punter Jack Fox.

The defending Super Bowl champion and AFC No. 1 seed Kansas City Chiefs had three first-team selections in guard Joe Thuney, center Creed Humphrey and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Allen was the only player to make either the first or second team for the Bills, who posted the AFC's second-best record this season at 13-4.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson were the lone unanimous first-team honourees. Chase led the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns this season.

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers was the lone rookie on the All-Pro team, and the first to be named to the first team at tight end since the New York Giants' Jeremy Shockey in 2002.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Tristan Wirfs made history as the first player to be named first team All-Pro at both tackle spots. Wirfs, a 2021 first-team selection at right tackle, was named the top left tackle this season.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett and San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner were each named to the first team for the fourth time in their careers, the most of any players named to this season's All-Pro team.
