IPL: Rajasthan Royals continue perfect start by thrashing Mumbai Indians
Yashasvi Jaiswal starred for the Rajasthan Royals as they defeated the Mumbai Indians by 27 runs to maintain their perfect start to the 2026 Indian Premier League season.
The match was reduced to 11 overs a side after heavy rain, though the Indians fell short in their chase of 151 after winning the toss and choosing to bowl.
It was a typically fast start from the opening partnership of Jaiswal (77 not out) and 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (39 from 14) as they reached 50 in just 2.4 overs during their 80-run stand.
Shardul Thakur (1-36) removed Sooryavanshi before AM Ghazanfar (2-21) dismissed Dhruv Jureal (2) and Riyan Pirag (20), but Jaiswal remained at the crease as the Royals set a total of 150-3.
The Indians' chase got off to a poor start as Ryan Rickelton (8), Suryakumar Yadav (6) and Rohit Sharma (5) were sent back to the dressing room inside the first three overs.
Ravi Bishnoi (2-25) and Nandre Burger (2-21) were the pick of the bowlers as Rajasthan picked up wickets at regular intervals to limit Mumbai to 123-9.

Data Debrief: Jaiswal haunts Mumbai again
Jaiswal's unbeaten 77 saw him claim the Orange Cap, taking his total to 170 this season.
And it is not the first time he has thrived against the Indians; both of his previous hundreds in the competition have come against Mumbai.
Jaiswal scored four maximums and 10 boundaries as the Royals powered to their third consecutive win to start the 2026 campaign.
