Collier reveals immense pride after Lynx comeback against Valkyries
Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier revealed her pride after they overturned a 14-point deficit to defeat the Golden State Valkyries and qualify for the WNBA semi-finals.
It was a slow start for the Lynx, who scored just nine points in the second quarter as they trailed by 13 points at half-time.
A closer third quarter still saw them 14 points down heading into the final 12 minutes, but an incredible 26-11 run, fuelled by Collier and Kayla McBride, saw them secure a 75-74 win on the road.
It was the first time in 77 games, since the WNBA switched from halves to quarters in 2006, that Minnesota had won after trailing by 14 or more points heading into the final quarter.
Collier, who finished the game with 24 points, seven rebounds, four assists and one steal, believes desperation played a role in their late turnaround.
"I am just so proud of our effort," said Collier. "I think it shows the grit and the resilience that this team has and what we've been talking about for two years. I was really proud of us today.

"[It's] the desperation that we played with knowing we were down by a lot and only had 10 minutes to get back in it.
"Coach said, 'There is nothing I can draw for you that's going to get you an easy bucket. You have to go out there and just play'.
"[Now] We get to have those days off, recover, take care of our bodies, and also just set the tone for how we want to play in these playoffs."
The Lynx are yet to find out their semifinal opponent, with Game 1 of the series taking place on September 21.
