Travis Kelce insisted that he has no plans to retire in the near future even if the Kansas City Chiefs win a third straight Super Bowl.

Kelce will take to the field at Caesars Superdome on Sunday to take on the Philadelphia Eagles, bringing to an end his 11th season in the NFL.

The 35-year-old tight end also won the Super Bowl back in 2019 with the Chiefs, with many predicting that if he lifts the title this weekend, he could call time on his career.

Kelce's future plans have been questioned as his fame off the field has risen thanks to his relationship with pop star Taylor Swift.

He also has a media career boosted by one of the most popular sports podcasts, New Heights, which he takes part in alongside brother Jason, who used to play for the Eagles.

"I've thought about it, but I still love what I do. I love coming to work every day," Kelce said at the Super Bowl's opening night event in New Orleans.

"It's moments like these, weeks like these, the months that we just had in the playoffs that make me feel like I could play this game forever.

"I feel like I still have a lot of good football left in me. We'll see what happens. I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life.

"That's always been the goal, knowing football only lasts for so long."

Kelce has the most play-off receptions by any player in NFL history and will add to that tally as he and Patrick Mahomes look to unlock Philadelphia's defensive unit on Sunday.

The tight end’s regular season tallies for receiving yards and touchdowns were his lowest since playing in just one game during his rookie year, but he produced a strong performance against the Houston Texans in the divisional round.

Kelce was also posed a question about where he would like to be in three years' time, and he said he hopes to still be turning out for the Chiefs for a little while longer.

"Hopefully I will still be playing football," he said. "I love doing this, I love coming to work every day. I feel like I still have a lot of good football left in me. We'll see what happens.

"I know I've been setting myself up for other opportunities in my life. That's always been the goal, knowing football only lasts for so long.

"You have to find a way to get into another career and another profession. I've been doing that in my offseason.

"But for the most part, I plan on being a Kansas City Chief and playing football."
