Adelman lauds unforgettable and 'extraordinary' Jokic performance
Denver Nuggets coach David Adelman hailed Nikola Jokic's "extraordinary" performance after the Serb tied the highest-scoring game of the NBA season against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jokic finished with 55 points and 12 rebounds in Denver's 130-116 victory over the Clippers, with the Nuggets making it six wins on the bounce.
His total equaled Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 55 in a double-overtime game at the Indiana Pacers on October 23.
Jokic was responsible for 25 of the Nuggets' 39 first-quarter points, while also adding 19 in the third and went 18-of-23 from the field.
He fell just short of getting a seventh triple-double of the season, claiming just six assists on Wednesday, but went 5-of-6 on 3-pointers and made 14-of-16 free throws.
"The way he played is how he [Jokic] works out when no one is watching," Adelman said. "He prepares every day for situations like this.
"He was extraordinary. That's one of those performances you won't forget.
"He's one of our best ball handlers, he's a guy that can bleed the clock, he's one of the best players alive. It would be stupid for me not to put my best players back in to make sure we win the game."

On Tuesday, Jokic also impressed against the Sacramento Kings, getting 35 points in the 122-108 victory.
Despite his fast start against the Clippers, Jokic claimed he did not make the best start, even as Los Angeles struggled to cope with his threat.
"It's a good feeling," Jokic said.
"I didn't open the game really good. I think I missed like two, three layups, and after that, I felt good.
"I think I saw everything, but I think it's hard. We are really running a lot of plays for me, all kind of different plays."
