Wings win WNBA Draft Lottery again
The Dallas Wings won the WNBA Draft Lottery for the second season in a row Sunday.
Dallas had the best chance to secure the top overall pick at 42 percent because the odds are based on the two-year (2024 and 2025) cumulative records of the five teams that did not make the playoffs in the most recent season.
The Wings, who drafted WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers No. 1 last year, had the most assigned combinations with a cumulative record of 19-65.
As the result of a prior trade between Minnesota and Chicago, the Lynx – who went a league-best 34-10 last season – will pick second.
The Seattle Storm, Washington Mystics and Sky completed the fifth lottery in WNBA history where the order matched the chances held by the clubs.
Some of the players that are expected to be taken high in April's draft are UCLA's Lauren Betts, TCU's Olivia Miles, UConn's Azzi Fudd, LSU's Flau'jae Johnson, South Carolina’s Ta'Niya Latson and Spanish player Awa Fam.
