Spurs 'not fully satisfied' despite overcoming Timberwolves, says Wembanyama
Victor Wembanyama says the San Antonio Spurs are "not fully satisfied" with their narrow win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, having let a big lead slip.
The Spurs overcame a career-high 55-point performance from Anthony Edwards to hold out for a 126-123 win over Minnesota.
Wembanyama, meanwhile, had 39 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs, and sparked the squad's most prolific quarter in nearly 40 years. He scored 20 points in the second, including 11 straight, as San Antonio built a 25-point half-time lead.
But the Timberwolves, who came from behind to win in their last meeting on January 12, almost did the same again as they roared back to 119-118, but the Spurs scored the next five points and held on for a win.
While the Spurs made it back-to-back wins in the NBA, Wembanyama says there is still a lot of room for improvement if they want to stay in the hunt at the top.
"It was fun," Wembanyama said. "Not the most fun, but it was a fun game for sure.
"And this one is worth a lot because of the way the West looks right now.

"The whole story of the game is we let the lead get away. What's important is to figure out what we want to get to in those moments because we talk about it a lot.
"We know it's a problem, and I know our mind is in the right place. But we've got to know where to get to. We're not fully satisfied.
"It's a nuanced win because they [played a] back-to-back. They had some stars sitting out. There's a lot we have to correct, but it's still a win, and that's the main thing to focus on."
Edwards shot 19-of-33 from the field and 9-of-16 from 3-point range to surpass his previous career best of 53, which he posted against the Detroit Pistons last January.
However, his 55-point game now ranks as the most points this season by a player on the losing side.
"They've got Wemby," Edwards said. "He's supposed to be the face of the league.
"So, I've always got to get up for that one. I loved it. I wish we could have just moved everybody out the way and just checked up – me versus him."
