NBA: Knicks beat cold-shooting Celtics
The New York Knicks took advantage of the Boston Celtics’ shooting woes in rolling to a 111-89 win on Sunday to tie things up atop the Atlantic Division.
Jalen Brunson finished with 31 points and eight assists and Josh Hart added 19 points for the Knicks (34-19), who have won nine of their last 10 games.
The Celtics (34-19) saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on a day they finished with season lows in points, field-goal percentage (37.0), three-point percentage (17.1) and three-pointers made (seven).
Jaylen Brown led Boston with 26 points and Derrick White scored 19, while Baylor Scheierman had 10 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in a start for the injured Sam Hauser.

Barnes helps Raptors gain ground in Atlantic Division
Scottie Barnes’ monster performance lifted Toronto to a 122-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers that pulled the Raptors closer to first place in the Atlantic Division.
Barnes, selected to the All-Star Game for the second straight season last week, had 25 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, four blocks and two steals as the Raptors (32-22) won for the seventh time in 10 contests to move within 2 ½ games of the New York Knicks (34-19) and Boston Celtics (34-19) for the top spot in the Atlantic.
Barnes became just the fourth player since the 2020-21 season to reach at least those numbers in each of those categories and first since Anthony Davis had 29 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, five blocks and three steals while with the Los Angeles Lakers on January 3, 2024.
Former Raptors forward Pascal Siakam had 18 points for the Pacers (13-40) in their fourth straight loss.

The Timberwolves (32-22) suffered their third loss in four contests and now hold just a one-half-game lead on the Phoenix Suns (31-22) for sixth place in the West.
Anthony Edwards led the way with 23 points for Minnesota, who have dropped eight of their last 13 games after a 17-6 stretch.
