Giannis Antetokounmpo beat the buzzer with a turnaround, fadeaway jumper from the elbow to cap another impressive performance as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Indiana Pacers 117-115 on Monday.

Aaron Nesmith hit a layup that tied the game with 15 seconds remaining, but he got caught in an unfavourable switch on the other end. Antetokounmpo posted up on Nesmith before turning over his right shoulder and delivering the game-winner that silenced the Indiana crowd.

Antetokounmpo finished with 33 points on 14-of-21 shooting, adding 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Antetokounmpo entered Monday as the NBA’s leading scorer and is now averaging 34.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists.

Bucks center Myles Turner had nine points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots in his return to Indianapolis, where he played the first 10 seasons of his career.

AJ Green had four of Milwaukee’s 20 3-pointers, and Kyle Kuzma chipped in 15 points off the bench for the Bucks, who improved to 5-2.

Pascal Siakam had 32 points and eight assists to lead the way for the Pacers, who shot just 8 of 33 from 3-point range.

Isaiah Jackson had 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Jarace Walker chipped in 18 points for Indiana, who fell to 1-7.

Pistons beat Grizzlies in Morant’s return

Cade Cunningham had 33 points and eight assists to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 114-106 win over the Memphis Grizzlies as Ja Morant returned from his one-game, team-issued suspension.

Morant was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team, causing him to miss Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors. Neither Morant nor the Grizzlies have spoken with detail about the rift between him and the team.

Morant had 18 points and 10 assists in his return on Monday, playing 35 minutes as the Grizzlies fell to 3-4.

Detroit led wire-to-wire and dominated inside, outscoring Memphis 58-30 in the paint.

Isaiah Stewart scored a career-high 26 points and added 14 rebounds for the Pistons, while Ronald Holland II chipped in 14 points off the bench in 20 minutes.

Adebayo, Heat edge Clippers

Bam Adebayo scored on back-to-back clutch possessions to cap a productive night, and the Miami Heat got a key defensive stop at the buzzer to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 120-119.

Adebayo hit the go-ahead jumper with 1:31 remaining and made a pair of free throws on the Heat’s next possession, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Norman Powell added 21 points as Miami shot 54.2% from the field (45 for 83).

The Heat had opened their current four-game road trip with consecutive losses before Monday’s win in Los Angeles lifted them to 4-3 on the season.

Kawhi Leonard finished with 27 points but was unable to recreate the magic from Friday, when he hit a game-winning jumper in the Clippers’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

On Monday, Leonard again had the ball in the game’s final seconds, but he missed a tough 3-pointer at the buzzer as a double team closed in on him.

James Harden had 29 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Clippers, who fell to 3-3.
