James lauds 'generational player' Doncic after overtime winner
LeBron James hailed Luka Doncic as a "generational player" after his last-second basket secured the Los Angeles Lakers an overtime win.
With just 0.5 seconds remaining in overtime, Doncic made a fall-away jumper to earn the 127-125 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
Austin Reaves had forced the extra period when he rebounded his intentionally missed free-throw and made a floater with 1.9 seconds remaining in regulation.
But it was Doncic who led the charge once more, finishing with 30 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds – his eighth triple-double of the season – as he continued his brilliant form during the Lakers' five-game winning streak.
"Just a big-time shot by a f****** generational player," James said of Doncic. "He's just a big-time player, man.
"We wanted the last shot. We wanted to put the ball in our guy's hands.
"It's going to be just the first of many game winners like that for him in a Lakers uniform."

The Lakers have not only won their last five games, but also eight of their last nine to climb up to third in the Western Conference standings, with half a game lead on the Houston Rockets.
Reaves hit a team-high 32 points, while Marcus Smart added 21 and five steals. James contributed 17 in his 40 minutes on the court.
"Is 'coalesce' a word? Is that the right word? For coming together?" Lakers coach JJ Redick asked.
"I think it feels like we're coalescing right now in a really nice way. Still got a long way to go, still got a long way to go, but certainly optimistic with how we handled this stretch of games. It's big time."
