Haliburton's wild jumper helps Pacers stun Knicks in OT
All hope appeared to be lost for the Indiana Pacers, as they trailed the New York Knicks by 14 points with just under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
That's when Aaron Nesmith and Tyrese Haliburton took over.
Behind a furious rally, the Pacers pulled out an improbable 138-135 win in overtime on Wednesday that left Knicks fans at Madison Square Garden stunned.
Nesmith drained five 3-pointers during Indiana's frantic comeback and Haliburton sent the game to overtime on an unbelievable shot.
Off an inbound pass with seven seconds remaining, the two-time All-Star dribbled the length of the court all the way into the paint, only to lose his dribble and turn and dribble back out near the top of the key, where he launched a fadeaway shot that bounced high off the back of the rim and down through the basket as time expired. It was nearly a game-winner, but replays confirmed his toe was on the 3-point line.

In overtime, it was Haliburton's pass that put Indiana up for good, as he found a cutting Andrew Nembhard near the basket for a layup with 27 seconds remaining.
Haliburton finished with 31 points and 11 assists, while Nesmith had 30 points, going 8 for 9 from 3-point range.
The Knicks wasted a 43-point performance from Jalen Brunson, and Karl-Anthony Towns added 35 points and 12 rebounds.
Game 2 is Friday.
