Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr urged his players to "bring their best effort for the team" after Jonathan Kuminga did not play again.

The Warriors earned a 123-91 victory over the Chicago Bulls in the NBA on Sunday to improve their season record to 13-12 despite being short-handed.

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Al Horford are all still missing for Golden State, who were led by Brandon Podziemski with 21 points, while Jimmy Butler and Quinten Post both scored 19.

The Warriors started and finished strongly, with the Bulls failing to build on their momentum after a 30-point third quarter.

Kuminga was not among the 11 players who entered the game against Chicago, as his inconsistent playing time continues to draw attention in his fifth season.

"Happens to everybody pretty much, other than the stars," Kerr said about Kuminga.

"Guys come in and out of the rotation, depending on who's available, how the team is playing.

"This is how the league works. There's always someone knocking down the door, trying to get your job.

"So, it's on everybody to just compete, bring their best effort for the team. We've got a lot of guys doing that."

Despite some friction in his relationship with the franchise in the offseason, Kuminga returned to training after lengthy negotiations over his two-year contract and started well.

He helped Kerr's side to a 4-1 record at the start of the season, only for his momentum to stall again as the Warriors endured a mini-skid, which resulted in Kuminga being dropped from the starting lineup for 13 games.

In the four games after that, he has struggled to regain his rhythm, making only 12 of 40 shots in that time.

"I'm not really sure [how long it lasts]," Kuminga said. "But as long as things are working out there and we winning, I don't see the point of switching anything, changing. Whenever my number gets called, I'll be ready.

"We've been doing good. Things are working. So, I don't see the point of taking certain people out of the rotation when we doing good, and things are going well.

"I don't have any problems. I'm going to work out every day, stay ready, because you never know how these things works.

"I believe in my game and feel good about my game. I just got to be a professional. Things happen. It's happened before."
