Cavaliers' Mobley out two-to-four weeks with calf strain
Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star centre Evan Mobley has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 calf strain and is expected to be sidelined two-to-four weeks.
The Cavaliers announced the injury update Saturday, one day after Mobley was hurt in a 130-126 win over the Washington Wizards.
Mobley, who finished with 23 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes, experienced tightness in his left calf and an MRI determined the severity of the injury.
The 2024-25 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Mobley is second on Cleveland in scoring with a career-best 19.1 points per game and averages team highs of 9.3 rebounds and 1.64 blocks, which also ranks fifth in the NBA.
Mobley has only missed one game this season for the Cavs (15-11), who are in second place in the Central Division despite dealing with a rash of injuries.
Jarrett Allen has finger injuries on both hands, Sam Merrill has a right hand sprain and Max Strus is recovering from foot surgery.
