Draymond Green is staying in the Bay Area.

Green agreed to a one-year, $27.7million contract with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, according to a report from Shams Charania of ESPN.

The deal, which reportedly does not include a no-trade clause, is the same as the one Green had previously turned down. He declined it, in order to give the Warriors more salary flexibility to potentially lure LeBron James.

That did not happen with James announcing he would join the Philadelphia 76ers last Friday.

Green, 36, has spent his entire 14-year NBA career with the Warriors, winning four championships with the franchise since being selected with the 35th overall pick in the 2012 draft.

In 68 games last season, Green averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists, which are right around his career averages of 8.7 points, 6.8 boards and 5.6 assists.

His contributions on the court, however, are difficult to quantify using traditional statistics.

Considered among the best defenders in NBA history, Green has been named to the All-Defensive First Team five times, selected to the All-Defensive Second Team four times and was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2016-17.

Golden State, though, failed to make the play-offs for the second time in three seasons in 2025-26.

With Green back in the fold and sharpshooter Stephen Curry signed through the 2027-28 season, the Warriors will attempt to rebound from last season's 37-45 finish.
