Booker: Suns believed they could match Thunder in last-gasp win
Devin Booker says the Phoenix Suns had full belief that they could beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, having used their last meeting with them as a benchmark.
Booker hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds remaining on Sunday, earning Phoenix a 108-105 win over the Thunder and exacting some revenge in the process.
The two teams met in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup on December 10, with Oklahoma City dealing the Suns their worst defeat in team history when they stormed to a 138-89 win.
However, Booker led Phoenix with 24 points, nine assists and six rebounds, while reserve guard Jordan Goodwin set career highs with 26 points and eight 3-pointers to push them to a sixth win in seven games.
"We'll take it," Booker said.
"Obviously, they're [the Thunder] everybody's target. Those are the champs, and they are seasoned.
"They're a really good team, so that's who you want to match yourself up against. And we all believed in it."

The Thunder suffered just a sixth loss of the season, with five of those coming in their last 11 games.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 25 points on 8-of-22 shooting for the reigning NBA champions, but it was not enough to earn them a fourth straight win.
"They play hard. They play together," said Gilgeous-Alexander.
"In this league, when you play hard and play together every night, you give yourself a chance. And then you add the talent and the personnel – they're a good team."
