The Washington Wizards evidently like what they've seen from AJ Dybantsa.

After combining for 50 points in two games, the Wizards decided they would not play their young star for the remainder of the summer league, per a report by The Athletic on Tuesday.

The Wizards drafted Dybantsa with the No. 1 overall pick in June's draft after one season at BYU. In his first summer league game, the 19-year-old scored 27 points. He followed that up with a 23-point performance on Sunday.

With little left to show the coaching staff, the team has opted to keep Dybantsa off the court rather than risk unnecessary injury.

This wasn't a total surprise, as teams customarily decide to shut down the top picks that they've invested so much money in.
