Kelly Krauskopf has stepped down as the president of the Indiana Fever, the team announced on Friday.

Krauskopf was the general manager for the Fever in the franchise’s inaugural season in 2000 and held that role through 2017. During that stint, Indiana made 13 playoff appearances and won the 2012 WNBA championship.

She spent six seasons as the assistant general manager of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers before returning to the Fever in an elevated role in 2024.

The Fever made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to help build and steward the Indiana Fever with the support and trust of Herb Simon,” Krauskopf said in a statement. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and shared accomplishments that have shaped my time with this organisation.

“The Fever is poised for an exciting future, and I am proud to have helped lay the foundation for its continued growth and success. I will always cherish my time with Pacers Sports and Entertainment and the people who made it so meaningful.”

Krauskopf was also part of the founding of the WNBA itself, serving as the league’s director of operations for its first three seasons from 1996-99.

Krauskopf was also involved with USA Basketball, helping to select the rosters of the 2004, 2008 and 2012 gold medal squads for the Olympics.
