Tatum has no 'beef' with former Celtics star Brown
Jayson Tatum has no animosity towards Jaylen Brown, saying the only shame is that they are no longer Boston Celtics team-mates.
Brown left the Celtics this past summer, as he joined LeBron James at the Philadelphia 76ers.
Tatum and Brown spent nine years together in Boston, where they won an NBA championship in 2024. Brown was named as the Finals MVP that season.
Yet Brown appeared to take aim at Tatum on social media this week, when he posted a blue hat, seemingly referring to "cap", which is slang for somebody being untruthful, as he commented on a video of Tatum saying he had been caught off guard by Brown's switch to Philadelphia.
Tatum, however, insisted he has no issue with his old team-mate.
"I don't have any animosity or beef or ill will towards him," Tatum said after the Celtics beat the New York Knicks.
"The frustrating part is, since he's not on the Celtics anymore, the narrative or conversations haven't been enough about what we accomplished, all the games we won, winning the championship, how we've grown together, right?"

There were previously suggestions that Brown and Tatum did not see eye-to-eye, but the latter insisted that was not the case, saying it was nothing like the publicised spats between Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant during their time together in Los Angeles.
"This ain't no f****** Shaq and Kobe," he said.
"There's no beef, it's not about that. It should be more praise. I understand drama gets clicks and views, but I'm not really into that.
"I'm not blaming everybody for how they feel. Everybody is entitled to their own feelings, and we all go through different things in our lives.
"I reached out to him the day he was traded. I called, I texted. I understand how people process things differently.
"At this point in our lives, we're too old to be having our relationship discussed on the internet. If there's a conversation to be had, we can definitely have the conversation.
"I welcome that. I've always wanted the best for him, wished the best for him. I've always publicly said those things."
Tatum scored 36 points, had nine rebounds and added seven assists for Boston against the Knicks.
