Novak Djokovic progressed into the third round of Wimbledon after a comfortable straight-sets win over Daniel Evans.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion won 6-3 6-2 6-0 to secure victory in one hour and 47 minutes.

Despite a strong start from Djokovic, Evans saved nine break points as he fought to stay in the first set before eventually losing his serve to go 5-3 down, and the Serb served to love to take the lead.

World number six Djokovic returned to his usual clinical nature in the second, breaking Evans twice and conceding just 10 points.

He then wrapped the match up in style, saving two break points in the final game to, at 38 years 39 days, become the oldest player to claim a 6-0 set in the men's singles at Wimbledon since Jimmy Connors (38 years 295 days) in 1991.

Djokovic will play his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round after he beat Jesper De Jong 1-6 6-3 6-2 6-4.

Elsewhere, Alex De Minaur survived becoming the victim of the next Wimbledon upset after beating Arthur Cazaux.

The Australian lost the first set before winning 4-6 6-2 6-4 6-0, setting up a third-round clash against August Holmgren or Tomas Machac.

Data Debrief: 99 not out for Djokovic

Djokovic's success at SW19 continues after breaking one record and closing in on two others.

He moved past Roger Federer for the most third-round appearances in the men's singles (19), while his record at the competition is now 99-12.

Djokovic (44) is also one win away from equalling Federer for the most men's singles match wins at Wimbledon in the Open Era after turning 30.

Djokovic also now holds a career win-loss record of 35-1 in men's singles matches against opponents at their home grand slam event, with his sole defeat coming to Andy Murray in the 2013 Wimbledon final.
