Less than a month after leading the New York Knicks to their first NBA title in 53 years, Jalen Bruson will have surgery.

Brunson is undergoing a procedure on his left wrist, and should be able to resume basketball activities in about two months, according to multiple reports on Tuesday.

The recovery and rehab is expected to be around six-to-eight weeks for the left-handed Brunson.

The NBA Finals MVP played with pain in his left wrist during New York's championship run, but still managed to average 32.6 points against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals - including 45 in the Game 5 clincher.

During the 2025-26 regular season, Brunson averaged 26 points, 6.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds while earning All-NBA second-team honours and being named to his third All-Star Game.
