Holiday enjoys reunion with Celtics 'family'
Jrue Holiday enjoyed a warm reception on his first return to Boston since leaving the Celtics for the Boston Trail Blazers.
Holiday was sent to Portland in the offseason as the Celtics were forced to trim their roster.
He helped them win the NBA championship in 2024, having joined from the Trail Blazers a year earlier.
And the 35-year-old received a warm welcome from the Boston fans as he returned with Portland on Monday, as the Celtics won 102-94 to move to 29-17 for the season.
For Holiday, it was like he had never been away.
"Brought back good times," Holiday said, as quoted by ESPN.
"Something like that, for me, it felt like it was like that every single game.
"You play hard for this team and this city, and they definitely have your back.
"It's just like family. There's a normalcy to it.

"You spend so much time with them that they become family and then just all of a sudden, you're on a different team. So it's always good to see them."
Holiday finished with 14 points, and he is averaging 15.4 per game this season.
Payton Pritchard led the Celtics with 23 points, while Jaylen Brown chipped in with 20.
While the Celtics are sitting pretty in second in the Eastern Conference, Portland (23-24) are down in ninth in the West.
