Alexander Zverev will play Jannik Sinner in the Vienna Open final following a straight-sets semi-final victory over Lorenzo Musetti.

The 2021 champion progressed to his second showpiece in Vienna, where he defeated Musetti in just over an hour-and-a-half on Saturday.

Since he was taken the distance by Jacob Fearnley in the opening round, Zverev has not dropped another set this week.

The three-time major finalist continued in that vein, breaking in the seventh game on the way to drawing first blood against Musetti.

A single break also proved crucial for Zverev in a tight second set, with the second seed snatching the 11th game before holding for a 6-4 7-5 victory.

"I found a little bit of confidence in my body and myself a little bit," the German said.

"I felt like today was a good match. Happy with the win and happy to be in the final playing against Jannik now."

Data Debrief: 300 up for Zverev

It was a landmark victory for Zverev, who claimed his 300th career win on hard courts at ATP level. He is only the eighth active player to achieve the milestone.

The second seed produced a solid display, hitting nine aces and winning 83% of his first-serve points.

Zverev will now look to become the first multiple winner of this event since Andy Murray doubled up back in 2016.
