Uncapped Warren called up to Wales' Six Nations squad
Uncapped tight-head prop Ben Warren has been called up to the Wales squad ahead of their Six Nations opener against France on Friday.
The 24-year-old Ospreys player will replace WillGriff John who has been ruled out of the game due to an injury.
Warren has featured in 11 matches for the United Rugby Championship team this season and joins Ospreys team-mate Dan Edwards and Scarlets' Ellis Mee as the only uncapped players in the Wales squad.
Warren has also played 15 games for the Wales Under-20s and will now join fellow tight-head props Cardiff's Keiron Assiratti and Henry Thomas of Scarlets in Warren Gatland's 35-strong roster.
John, who has two caps for Wales, had left the field in the first half of the Sale Sharks defeat to Bath in the Premiership on Sunday.
The 32-year-old has since then failed a head injury assessment resulting in his absence from the opener in Paris.

John has not appeared for Wales since 2021 and was making only his second start of the season for Sale in the game against Bath.
Wales are looking to avoid a 13th consecutive defeat when they take on the French this week.
They will then face Italy on February 8 before taking on holders Ireland (February 22), Scotland (March 8) and England (March 15).
