The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without leading scorer Anthony Edwards for two weeks after he sustained a right hamstring strain in Sunday’s 114-110 win over the defending Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers.

Edwards exited 3:08 into the first quarter after the first overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft combined for 72 points in the first two games of the season for Minnesota (2-1).

The three-time All-Star guard has missed only 19 of Minnesota’s 445 games – including the play-offs – in his career, and Edwards’ 23.9 points per game rank 21st in the NBA since he entered the league.

A two-time second-team All-NBA selection, Edwards also owns career averages of 5.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.31 steals.

Veteran Mike Conley and fifth-year guard Bones Hyland are expected to see more time on the court for Minnesota while Edwards recovers.
