Marina Mabrey felt "it was all going in" as she matched the WNBA record for most points scored in a single game.

Mabrey tallied 53 points as the Toronto Tempo defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 125-97 at Cola-Cola Coliseum to begin their nine-game homestand.

The guard tied the mark previously set by Liz Cambage in July 2018 and A'ja Wilson in August 2023, while Mabrey also tied the single-game WNBA record for 3-pointers.

Mabrey made nine of her 18 3-point attempts, while also shooting 17-of-28 from the field and draining 10 of her 12 free throws.

The 29-year-old has now scored 113 points across her last three games, the most in a three-game span in WNBA history.

"There's no stat board in our gym," Mabrey said after the win.

"After you get into a state like that, it's kind of hard to know what you're really doing, but my team-mates made it known, so I knew I was doing something good.

"I think tonight was just my night from the 3-point line and from honestly everywhere. It was all going in!

"And then the fans, to have them chanting 'MVP,' I don't know that I ever imagined that. But it was really a good feeling."

Toronto coach Sandy Brondello added: "I've been doing this for quite some time, I've never seen that.

"Even Diana Taurasi, and she could shoot it really well. I mean, to witness that was amazing."

Toronto's 125 points were also the most by a WNBA team in regulation time, while Julie Allemand tied the record for most assists on no turnovers in a single game (14).

The Tempo are now fourth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 9-9 on the season, while the Sparks (8-9) are fifth in the West.
