Caitlin Clark was unfazed by having to bear a greater load for the short-handed Indiana Fever, as she shot a career-high eight 3-pointers in their win over the Chicago Sky.

The Fever were without star forward Aliyah Boston – who had 22 points in Saturday's road loss to the New York Liberty – for the second game of their weekend back-to-back.

Yet her absence ultimately did not matter as Clark put on a show in a 113-90 victory over Chicago, scoring 37 points and tacking on 10 assists.

It was the 11th 20-point, 10-assist game Clark has managed this season, with no other player in WNBA history having more than 10 such games throughout their career. 

And with Kelsey Mitchell also scoring 30 points, she and Clark have now scored 30 or more points in the same game on three occasions – the most by any pair in WNBA history.

Clark's eight successful 3-pointers helped Indiana set a franchise record, with 18 3s made by the visitors overall, and she always knew she would have to shoulder even more responsibility in Boston's absence. 

"I think I just came in with the mentality of knowing that my team needs me to step up tonight," Clark said.

"Obviously, with [Boston] going down like that, it hurts our team a little bit. So, I carry a little bit more of the load.

"I think it's all about your mentality coming into a back-to-back. You can either be like, 'Oh I'm tired, we've been on the road,' or you can buck up and play basketball and have fun. 

"I felt like our team had great energy coming into this game and had a great mindset about how we wanted to approach it."

The Fever are now 25-14 for the season – the fifth-best record in the league – and have five days off to prepare for their next outing, against the 9-27 Connecticut Sun on Friday.
