'Remarkable' Reese breaks two WNBA rebounding records
Angel Reese broke the WNBA record for most rebounds in a single game and in a single season during the Atlanta Dream's victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
The Dream won 78-71 to move back to the top of the Eastern Conference, and Reese played a key role in downing the Sparks.
Reese recorded 26 rebounds in the win, with 18 of those coming at the defensive end, surpassing Chamique Holdsclaw's previous record of 24, which was set in May 2003.
The 24-year-old has also grabbed 458 rebounds in the 2026 season, seeing her pass A'ja Wilson's season-record of 451 from the 2024 campaign.
The dominant rebounding performance comes after Reese recorded a career-high 31 points in a win over the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, with the Dream completing a 4-0 West Coast trip.
"Angel's been remarkable on this trip," Atlanta coach Karl Smesko said. "You can see her getting better each month."

Overall, Reese has recorded 1,281 rebounds in 101 WNBA games; the all-time competition record is held by Tina Charles, with 4,262 rebounds.
Reese also recorded her WNBA-leading 27th double-double of the season against the Sparks (11 points), as she seeks more consistency in her game.
"Last time I was here, I didn't miss any shots. This time, I couldn't hit s---, so I knew I was going be able to get them on the rebounding side," Reese told Peacock.
"I just want to be consistent for my team. Offensively, defensively, whatever it takes to win."
