Iga Swiatek eased into the Cincinnati Open quarter-finals to continue her quest for back-to-back titles.

Swiatek saw off Diane Parry 6-3 6-3 on Wednesday, despite not being at her very best.

The Pole claimed her first title of the year by triumphing in Toronto last week, and followed that up with a win over Maria Sakkari on Monday.

Swiatek took five of her break opportunities against Parry to continue her winning streak, teeing up a potential last-eight showdown with Elena Rybakina, who she beat to clinch the Canadian Open title last week.

The seventh seed was broken twice, but was dominant when it came to points won, taking 64 as opposed to Parry's 48.

Swiatek sealed her victory against serve, brilliantly dictating play from the baseline and forcing Parry into a slack backhand to end a long rally.

Quarter-final Queen

Swiatek has not had her best season, which is why she came into this tournament as the seventh seed.

But her success in Toronto last week will have injected plenty of confidence into her before the season's final grand slam, and Swiatek is looking sharp.

She has now reached 30 WTA-1000 level quarter-final ties, doing so in just 48 appearances. Only Serena Williams (45) and Agnieszka Radwanska (46) can boast a better record.

Swiatek is the fourth-youngest player to reach 30 Tier I / WTA-1000 quarter-finals since the format's introduction in 1990, older only than Martina Hingis, Radwanska and Maria Sharapova.

A battle with Rybakina in the next round would prove where Swiatek is at, albeit the Kazakh will first have to get past Diana Shnaider.
