Second T20I between Sri Lanka and Pakistan abandoned due to heavy rain
Persistent rain at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium led to Sri Lanka's second T20I against Pakistan being abandoned without a ball being bowled on Friday.
Pakistan had established a 1-0 lead in the three-match series when they triumphed by six wickets in Dambulla on Wednesday, but they were denied the chance to wrap things up with a match to spare.
Several inspections took place to see whether play was possible in the wet conditions, but as the rain got heavier, play was abandoned just before 9pm local time.
Sri Lanka must now win Sunday's final match to level the series before they face England in two three-match series in the T20 and ODI formats.
Pakistan, meanwhile, are out to record a fourth consecutive T20I victory in Sri Lanka. They last had a longer winning run in the format in the country between June and September 2012 (four games).
