Jessica Pegula came back to win from a set and a break down for the third consecutive match as she defeated Diana Shnaider to reach the Charleston Open semi-finals.

The reigning champion won 3-6 6-3 6-2 in two hours and 12 minutes to set up a last-four clash against either Iva Jovic or Anna Kalinskaya.

After the pair exchanged breaks in the opening set, Shnaider broke once again in the eighth game on her way to taking the first.

Pegula was stronger on serve in the second, conceding no break points, and she eventually converted her fifth break point opportunity to take the match to a deciding set.

Though Shnaider fought to a 2-0 lead in the third, first-seed Pegula reeled off six consecutive games to clinch victory, which she did with her fourth match point.

Madison Keys also came from a set down to defeat third seed Belinda Bencic 4-6 6-3 6-2 in their last eight matchup.

Keys will face either Yuliia Starodubtseva or McCartney Kessler in the semi-finals in Charleston.

Data Debrief: Pegula goes the distance again

Pegula's incredible endurance levels were on show again as the American is now 9-1 in three-set matches in 2026 and 18-4 in such matches since last year's US Open.

She has now progressed to her fourth semi-final in six tournaments this year.

Keys, meanwhile, registered her first top 20 win of the year as she advanced to the last four at Charleston for the first time since 2019, when she won the event.
