Noskova sets up all-Czech Wimbledon final with composed win over Kostyuk
Linda Noskova will face compatriot Karolina Muchova in the Wimbledon final after defeating Marta Kostyuk in straight sets.
The 21-year-old won 6-4 6-4 in an hour and 21 minutes to reach her maiden grand slam final, with an all-Czech clash lined up for Saturday's showpiece after Muchova's earlier win over Coco Gauff.
Both Noskova and Kostyuk started well on serve, with the latter also saving the first break point of the match in the sixth game.
The Ukrainian gave away two more in the 10th game, but this time paid the price as Noskova took the set without the need for a tie-break.
The Czech looked to be running away with the tie after breaking ahead to go 3-1 up in the second, but Kostyuk, whose emotions earned the support of the Centre Court crowd, broke back immediately.
Nevertheless, Noskova kept her cool and pounced again in the 10th game of the set, clinching victory with her second match point as Kostyuk fired wide with a forehand.
2018 - This will be the first Women’s Singles Major where both finalists saved a match point en route since the Australian Open 2018 (Caroline Wozniacki and Simona Halep). Deserved.#Wimbledon | @Wimbledon @WTA pic.twitter.com/lx8oX2HLlH

Czechs thriving in grass-court swing
Noskova is the second Czech player in the Open Era to reach her maiden women's singles grand slam final at the Championships after Petra Kvitova in 2011.
While the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek would have been backed to reach the final, Noskova's presence is not a complete surprise.
She won the Berlin title ahead of this tournament, defeating Jessica Pegula, Alexandra Eala and Paula Badosa en route to victory.
This will be the first women's singles final at Wimbledon between two players who have won lead-up events on grass at WTA level since 1990 (Martina Navratilova and Zina Garrison), after Muchova won in Bad Homburg.
And in Noskova and Muchova, two players representing the same nation will face each other in the women's singles final at Wimbledon for the first time since 2009 (Serena and Venus Williams).
They got there the hard way, too; this will be the first women's singles major where both finalists saved a match point en route since the 2018 Australian Open (Caroline Wozniacki and Simona Halep).
