New Zealand T20Is ‘very worthwhile’ despite washouts, says Brook
England white-ball captain Harry Brook believes their T20I series against New Zealand was “very worthwhile” despite two washouts.
The first and third games of the three-match series were abandoned due to rain, with England winning the second match by 65 runs in Christchurch.
The visitors will now face New Zealand in three ODI matches before turning all their attention to the Ashes, which starts in under a month.
Although England were unable to spend much time on the field, Brook was glad to grow closer to his team-mates with the extra time they received.
“We had a team bonding few days and spent a lot of time together, which the white-ball squad has never had,” said Brook.
“To be able to spend time together, trying to be good mates. We have had a lot of fun and having a lot of fun off the field can help you on the field as well.
“It has been very worthwhile.”

“The other night was a class game to be a part of. It was entertaining for sure and we had a lot of fun out there.
“That is something we have really tried to do this series to make sure we are having fun on and off the pitch.”
England’s first ODI against New Zealand will take place on October 26, before two further matches on October 29 and November 1.
