NBA: Hornets roll past Celtics for sixth straight win
Kon Knueppel scored 20 points and the Charlotte Hornets extended their win streak to six games with a 118-89 rout of the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball each added 18 points. Coby White finished with 17 points and six assists to help Charlotte extend its franchise-record road winning streak to 10 games.
The Hornets, who moved above .500 for the first time since Oct. 26, never trailed and led by as many as 29 points while committing only five turnovers.
Derrick White led the Celtics with 29 points and Jaylen Brown added 20 and 11 rebounds as Boston’s win streak was stopped at three games.
The Celtics came out sluggish playing in their sixth game in nine days, shooting just 38% (30 of 79) from the field and committing 16 turnovers that led to 21 Charlotte points. Boston also was mostly cold from the 3-point line, connecting on only 10 of 36 attempts.

Thunder hold off Knicks
Chet Holmgren tied a career high by making six 3-pointers, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 points, and the Oklahoma City Thunder cooled the New York Knicks with a 103-100 win at Madison Square Garden.
Holmgren finished with 28 points and eight rebounds while shooting 11 of 19 from the floor and 6 for 11 from 3-point range to finish three points off his season high.
Gilgeous-Alexander was 9 for 16 from the field and made all seven of his free throw attempts. The reigning league MVP also dished out eight assists in his third game back from an abdominal strain.
The only other Thunder player in double figures was Lu Dort, who scored 16 before fouling out.
NBA-leading Oklahoma City (49-15) made 16 3-pointers and won its fourth straight game despite being outscored in the paint 46-20.
The Knicks – who had won three in a row entering Wednesday and 15 of their previous 19 – trailed by as many as 15 early in the second half but closed the third quarter on a 32-14 run to re-take the lead.
Oklahoma City pushed back in the fourth quarter, however, holding New York to 7-of-21 shooting in the final frame.

Hawks beat Bucks to remain hot
Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 23 points and the Atlanta Hawks defeated the slumping Milwaukee Bucks 131-113 to win their fifth straight game and move above .500 for the first time since December.
Atlanta was 15-12 after a Dec. 14 victory over Philadelphia but lost its next seven games and hadn’t owned a winning record since.
Onyeka Okongwu had 21 points and Jalen Johnson added 20 points and nine assists as the Hawks erased an early 16-point deficit. CJ McCollum scored 18 points, while Dyson Daniels had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks outscored the Bucks 65-42 in the second half.
Atlanta didn’t have Jonathan Kuminga available due to inflammation in his left knee, while Milwaukee was missing Kevin Porter Jr. because of swelling in his right knee.
Milwaukee fell five games behind 10th-place Atlanta in the Eastern Conference standings, putting the Bucks’ bid for a 10th straight playoff berth in serious jeopardy. The Bucks have lost their last four games by a combined 97 points.
