Alfred Dunhill Links Championship winner Adrian Meronk celebrated a "special" triumph after his come-from-behind success on Sunday.

Meronk rallied from four shots behind to surpass Casey Jarvis and win by two strokes at St Andrews.

In the process, Meronk snapped a 1,078-day run without a DP World Tour title for Meronk, who now has five such triumphs to his name.

It also saw Meronk win the event 10 years after his maiden appearance as a professional at the tournament.

Meronk, who has been playing on the LIV Tour, offered Jarvis a way back into the contest on the 17th hole, but his opponent could not make the opportunity count.

Jarvis ultimately posted 72 for his final round, tying for second with Niklas Norgaard.

"It's unreal to be honest. I never usually cry but this one feels special," he said.

"I'm sorry, I'm just lost for words. It's been quite a tough year for me and to win here after ten years since turning pro, it's a dream come true.

"After my drive on 18 I was quite happy with the position I was in and I was just trying to enjoy the walk.

"It's an amazing walk when you cross the bridge, you look around and see the people and this history.

"Actually, when I was crossing the bridge I was actually thinking about Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus walking on the bridge. It was a great feeling and I really enjoyed the walk."

World number 979 Michael Stewart capped off a remarkable week as he tied for fourth alongside Tommy Fleetwood.

Brooks Koepka, meanwhile, claimed his first top-10 finish on either the DP World Tour or the PGA Tour since March.
