The Utah Jazz will be without Jaren Jackson Jr. for at least six weeks after the two-time All-Star sustained a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Jackson left after playing just 10 minutes in Utah’s 110-105 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Memphis traded Jackson to Utah last February, though he only appeared in three games with the Jazz before undergoing season-ending surgery on his left knee.

Jackson averaged 22.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in those three appearances last season and came into Monday’s game averaging 19.7 points and 5.7 boards in 2026-27.

Utah (1-3) also lost fellow big man Lauri Markkanen on Monday, and he’s day to day with a sprained right wrist.

The oft-injured Markkanen was the NBA’s Most Improved Player in his first campaign with the Jazz in 2022-23, but he hasn’t appeared in more than 55 games in any season since.

Markkanen averaged 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in Utah’s first three contests before exiting after six minutes of action on Monday.
