RJ Barrett is thrilled to see that the Toronto Raptors' hard work has been paying off after they booked their place in the quarter-finals of the NBA Cup.

The Raptors improved to 3-0 in NBA Cup play after their dominant 140-110 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday, and secured first place in East Group A.

Brandon Ingram led them with 24 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals, with Barrett also contributing 24. Scottie Barnes and Sandro Mamukelashvili added 23 each.

It was Toronto's sixth straight win, and they have won 10 of their last 11, having opened the season with four losses in five games.

Barrett was delighted with the turnaround the Raptors have made, with their 11-5 start to the season, the fourth-best through 16 games in Toronto's history.

"It's been fun so far. Everybody's enjoying it and playing well, playing together," Barrett told Postmedia, as quoted by the Toronto Sun.

"All the work that we've been putting in is just showing.

"We've been saying it for a while, like, defence, we play hard, we play together. So now, you're kind of seeing the fruits. We're out there. We're consistent, and that's what you need."

The semi-finals and championship match of the NBA Cup are set to be played in Las Vegas in December, and head coach Darko Rajakovic already has his eye on the prize.

"I think it's awesome," Rajakovic said. "I think our guys deserve the opportunity to compete in that setup.

"It's going to be a really different feeling for us, because it's going to be one game that can decide, are you going to the final four or not?

"Definitely, we do have a vision and a desire to be there [Las Vegas]."
