Fritz secures fourth Eastbourne title ahead of Wimbledon
Taylor Fritz won a record-extending fourth title at the Eastbourne Open after a straight-sets victory over Jenson Brooksby.
Fritz won 7-5 6-1 against his fellow American, securing his second title on grass this year, having also won the Stuttgart Open earlier in the month.
First-seed Fritz had his serve broken by Brooksby in the fifth game of the opening set, but broke back immediately before taking his opponent's serve in the final game, too, converting his second set-point attempt.
Fritz cruised through the second, saving two break points before winning five consecutive games to win the trophy.
The world number five starts his Wimbledon campaign against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, hoping to continue his dominance on grass this season.

Elsewhere, Tallon Griekspoor, who will face Brooksby in the first round at Wimbledon, beat Corentin Moutet in the final of the Mallorca Championships.
Griekspoor enjoyed a stellar week in Spain, not dropping a single set en route to the final, which he won 7-5 7-6 (7-3) for his third ATP Tour title of his career.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Maya Joint defeated 20-year-old Alexandra Eala in the WTA Eastbourne Final.
Joint saved four championship points in her 6-4 1-6 7-6 (12-10) victory, claiming her second singles title of the year.
Data Debrief: Eastbourne is Fritz's playground
Fritz has won the Eastbourne Open in 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025, with his four titles the most in the competition.
He now has a record of 17-2 at the British tournament and is just the second active player to win five grass-court ATP Tour titles, with only Novak Djokovic (eight) ahead of him.
