Edwards has ‘a lot more to go’ after reaching 10,000 NBA points
Anthony Edwards insisted that he has “got a lot more to go” after reaching 10,000 NBA points in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 131-122 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Edwards scored 25 points, shooting four from seven from beyond the arc, and added nine assists and seven rebounds as the Timberwolves moved up to the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
He reached the milestone in the fourth quarter with a fadeaway jumper, becoming the third-youngest player in NBA history to score 10,000 points (24 years and 156 years) after LeBron James (23 years and 59 days) and Kevin Durant (24 years and 33 days).
Edwards is also just the third player to score 10,000 points for Minnesota after Kevin Garnett and former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns.
“To be honest, it's cool, but I know I've got a lot more to go, so it's really nothing, for real,” Edwards said.

Edwards overtook the late Kobe Bryant in the all-time list.
Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in January 2020, achieved the feat at the age of 24 years and 194 days.
And it was a bittersweet moment for Edwards, who was disappointed to surpass one of the greats.
“I'm kind of sick that I got in front of Kobe," Edwards said.
"I wished I would've waited like 100 days or something, but yeah, it's all good.”
Edwards was the first pick of the 2020 draft, leading him to make his NBA debut at the age of 19.
He registered his first 40-point game in his rookie season against the Phoenix Suns, which coach Chris Finch feels was a sign of things to come.
“The scoring comes natural to him in a lot of ways,” Finch said, reflecting on the first 40-point game of Edwards' career.
“At that point in time you knew there was something inside him where he could get to that.”
