The Serbian will hope to warm up for the season's first grand slam with another trophy, having now won 101 ATP-level titles across his glittering career.
Other big names set to compete in Adelaide include Jack Draper, Tommy Paul, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Joao Fonseca.
This season's Australian Open women's singles champion, Madison Keys, triumphed in Adelaide before her success at Melbourne Park.
